The USGI Flares Kit Bag (or as our gargantuan military-industrial complex calls it, NSN #8460-00-606-8366) is a behemoth of a kit bag designed for use by all branches of our military. . It's easy to see why it applies to everyone - it's got massive capacity and a bomb-proof cotton-canvas construction that can handle even crayon-laced grunt abuse.

Style-stealing or use as a hilariously bulky gym bag, its construction won't let you down when it counts. Thick nylon straps, a main zip fastening and a heavy duty snap button closure at the storm flap.

I wanted one of these in perfect condition but they were out, no worries as the hood is still in usable condition with just a small hole in the pocket. Will buy again when best stock comes back.

So yes I put my flight gear inside, everything fits, no damages, just needed a little washing when I got it, the inside is rubberized. All in all a good shopping spree

I bought this primarily for a fun storage bag in the basement with MREs and other random emergency supplies, but I've used it for quick hauls. I could fit a whole duffel bag in, wild. If you love those oversized Ikea tote bags, this is basically an updated version of them.
